The Villas on the Green is located on Grapevine Hwy. also known as Hwy. 26. The children that live here attend Birdville Independent School District, which is recognized, by the state of Texas for excellence in learning. Most of the schools have been deemed exemplary based upon their TAAS testing scores. The Academy at Carrie F. Thomas is less than a mile from the Villas for grades K-5. Smithfield Middle School (6-8) is almost 3 miles away as is Birdville High School, home of the Hawks! Only a hop, skip and a jump away you will find Tarrant County College. Formerly TCJC this is a 2 year school that is expanding it's programs and degree plans as quickly as it can.

Dallas / Ft. Worth

The DFW metroplex will meet and exceed your entertainment needs. From your home at the Villas, you will be minutes from both Dallas and Fort Worth nightlife.

Fort Worth offers a taste of the Old West in the historic Stockyards District. Carriage rides to dance halls, Fort Worth has it all, there is also Sundance Square a newly renovated area in the heart of downtown. There you can find shopping, restaurants and nightclubs. If you enjoy the theater, Bass Hall provides a wonderful way of experiencing some of the world's most famous plays and musicals.

If you want to head East, Dallas will be waiting. When you are looking for an evening of live music and clubs Dallas' Deep Ellum Arts District beckons you. Another fun area for shopping, dining, and live music is the West End. From Texas-sized steaks to some of the finest foreign dishes, Dallas offers a wide variety of cuisines, which can be found throughout the city. Near the West End you can find The American Airlines Center, the home of the Mavericks and the Stars. Other teams in the area include the Dallas Cowboys who play in Irving, and the Texas Rangers who play in Arlington. Dallas is a dream come true for the sports fan. For the music fan Dallas also attracts every major concert tour, we have tons of amazing music venues and you won't miss a show due to location.

If a thrill is what you seek, DFW is home to both Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. The Texas Giant still brings them in, but the largest ride in Texas, the TITAN, calls Six Flags home. Just across the street at Hurricane Harbor you can find the Bubba Tub and the Black Hole. Every summer people from all over the country come to visit these attractions.

NRH20!If staying closer to home is more your style, then slide on down to NRH2O or Mountasia for a little fun. NRH2O is a city owned water park just 2 blocks away from us, and as a resident of the Villas on the Green you are entitled to a 40% discount on your admission price. Afterwards stop into Mountasia for a bit of miniature golf or some go cart racing. Near or far, your new home will be close to all of the greatest attractions.

NRH20 is the formula for family fun! A Neighbor of the Villas on the Green, this municipal owned water park features the world's largest uphill water coaster, the Green Extreme! Other attractions include a fountain entrance and shallow wading stream, children's play area, wave pool, 600 linear foot "endless river," water slides, sand volleyball court, meeting pavilion, arcade, gift shop, and concessions.

Iron Horse Golf Course is a challenging 18 hole municipal course designed by Dick Phelps that traverses through hardwood forest, meandering creeks, and under a railroad trestle. The course, which opened in 1991, is one of the top rated, public championship golf courses in Texas. If you enjoy shopping, we are ideally located for you. We are only a few minutes away from North East Mall which has recently been renovated by Simon Properties and now contains a Saks, Nordstrom, and many other designer fashion stores.

We also have the largest mall in Texas within miles of our community. Grapevine Mills Mall is a daylong trip in itself. It boasts The Rain Forest Café, and some of the best outlet shopping around. It also has a 30-screen movie theater with an enormous gaming center called Game Works. If you are in the mood, Dallas offers extensive shopping and a large selection of designer stores at the Galleria; a three-story mall that also features an ice skating rink.

Grapevine

Prior to settlement in 1850, this well-watered location on the blackland prairie was site of important negotiations between Indians and Gen. Sam Houston, which led to the signing of the Treaty of Birds Fort which opened North Texas settlement. Named for the wild mustang grapes that grew throughout the area. Population was 1,813 in 1950; growth parallels that of most Metroplex cities, and location of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport here has stimulated growth.

Much of Main Street is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. A walking map tour of the historic renovated downtown area is available at Convention and Visitors Bureau in re-created Wallis Hotel building. (See Heritage Walking Tour.) The original 1891 hotel was near railroad depot; closed in 1926, the building was demolished in the 1930s. Open Mon. - Fri. 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. One Liberty Park Plaza.Three championship public golf courses are open daily.

The city's annual GrapeFest celebration is held the second weekend in September, and in 2003 it was selected as one of the "Top 100" events in North America by the American Bus Association.

Shoppers find bargains galore at Grapevine Mills mall and the Bass Pro Shops, both just off Texas 121 north of D/FW Airport.

Today Fort Worth is one of Texas' major cities with a wide range of industries including Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

The impressive Fort Worth/Tarrant County Convention Center spans an area of 14 downtown blocks. Arlington / "Fun Central"

Agriculturally oriented until World War II, the strategic area between Dallas and Fort Worth has since experienced mushrooming growth from business, industrial and recreational factors. Arlington State College (founded 1895) became the Univ. of Texas at Arlington in 1965.

Now known as "Fun Central," Arlington is where families can visit the best theme park in the southwest, Six Flags Over Texas, cheer on the Texas Rangers (or your favorite team) at The Ameriquest Field in Arlington or splash around at Hurricane Harbor, the most amazing water park in the southwest, Arlington is FUN CENTRAL!
